Turn off password request for free apps on child accounts

Set up family sharing for soon to be 8 year old. Now anytime he downloads any app he has to know the super long iTunes password. I have the age restriction so I just want him to be able to download his free apps without asking me to put in the password every time.

Kid's Account, Ask to Buy, But why does it still require a Password for Downloads? I just setup a Kid's Account for my two daughters. The accounts are setup to when they try to download an app it will send a notification to my wife and I to approve the app before it downloads. However, on their iPads, it is making them use a password. There's an option in the iTunes - Password Settings to turn off the "Require Password" for Free Downloads. But when I try to disable it, there's a pop-up that says, "You will be asked for a password for all downloads and purchases until you are over 13." This defeats the whole purpose of the "Ask to Buy" feature. My daughter is going to have to come to me so I can enter the password, and then it will send my phone a notification to allow the download. Why can't I just uncheck the "Require Password" for Free Downloads??? With the "Ask to Buy" feature, it won't download until I approve the app from my phone anyway.

Parental controls Help, my daughter has an iPad. I connected it to my Apple id since she is too young for an email. I had it set up with parental controls. She went to visit her grandparents in another state. I have them the passcode to my Apple account so she could download a free game. Either she was told the password and remembers it or they aren’t paying attention to what she is asking to download but she is now making purchases. How can I change a subscription from my iPhone that’s on her iPad. I already changed the password so she can’t download anymore items.

Family Share-Child's Apple ID password for all app store downloads? Is there a way to set it so the child does not have to enter their Apple ID password for every app store download? I have it set to ask to buy so I am getting the notifications to approve or deny but on her device it's requiring her to enter her password three different times in the process...twice when she hits "get" before it brings up the option for her to send the ask request and then again when it's been approved before it'll start downloading. Why would she need to enter her password in this way? Is there a way to stop that from happening?
