Poor Gaming Perfomance on iPhone XS Max

I’ve been experiencing this problem where gaming, and even some graphically heavy pages jump small increments, instead of scrolling or in gaming, looking around, in a smooth fluid fashion.

For example, when playing PUBG Mobile, looking around happens as if The crosshairs are moving on a large grid pattern. Movement is in frames, not smooth panning. This is regardless of the game’s settings.

Trying to figure out if it is a hardware issue or a software one. It has happened across multiple updates of PUBG, along with the most recent iOS patch, before and after.

Would really like to resolve this, as it’s a great phone otherwise, but for this price, it would be nice if it performed better than my iPhone 7 Plus.

I’ve noticed the same thing as well, pretty much in every FPS game. I’ve tried playing the same games on other Xs max phones and they all do the same thing, I’ve noticed the smaller Xs doesn’t do this. Which leads me to conclude that games aren’t optimized yet for the bigger screen. However, Fortnite for example, if you begin screen recording, looking around becomes fluid and if you turn it off, looking around becomes choppy again. Overall, I’ve noticed my 6s plus is also more fluid throughout the UI of the phone in general compared to my Xs max. I think apple needs to optimize the low performance cores to keep the UI fluid and game developers need to optimize for the bigger screen. But in short, you’re not the only one :)
