Any experience with UHS-II card readers?

I bought an external card reader Transcend which supports UHS-II. However, when connected to the iMac Pro via USB-A port, the speeds are definitely not UHS-II, but regular SD ones. I compare it to the built-in port of the computer and see the difference. I use the included USB cable which seems USB 3, but don't know if it has to be 3.1.

Any thoughts on this matter?

While waiting for a response from Transend I suggest pulling up System Report to look at how the Transend device shows up on your USB bus, and the speed that is listed. Click on USB in the left column after the report loads, then locate the Transend device and click on it. What speed is listed?

I'm curious. Why are you using an external card reader instead of the one built into your iMac Pro?

Yes, I did that, but forgot to mention it here. Still waiting on their response though.

I've got an update - sometimes the card is recognised as UHS-II and the Blackmagic test shows the fast speed. Nothing has changed. The reader sits on the same spot, inserted in the same USB port. I removed the card, reinserted it and again - slow speed...

I'm not sure if the reader is faulty or there's some problem with the connection with the Mac.
