SAPPHIRE Radeon PULSE RX 580

I have a "SAPPHIRE Radeon PULSE RX 580 8GB GDDR5" in my MacPro but it shows no boot screen, even after installation of Mojave. How can I get the card to show a boot screen in order to be able to reenable FileVault?

However I cannot see any boot screen and I assumed that when Apple listed it as a recommended video card, this would not be an issue. installing Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 580 8G in a 5,1 Mac to run Mojave I have a Mac 5,1 running Mac OS 10.13.6 and have bought a Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 580 8G graphics card for it, so I can upgrade to Mojave. It's the PC version. I know that when I install it I will lose my boot screen. I am looking into having it flashed for Mac, though the only service I can find, Macvidcards, is not responding. Does anyone else do this? My goals are to be able to access: 1) Single User Mode 2) the Startup Manager 3) Target Disk mode 4) Recovery mode Without the boot screen, can I still access any of those modes? I know I won't be able to access the Startup Manager, but if I hold down T, will I still get to Target mode? Or any of the others (Cmd-S, Cmd-R)?

Mojave graphics card problem I followed the advice I got in Mac Pro 5,1 replacement graphics card - Apple Community, and I just got around to upgrading the machine to the latest officially supported OS, but unless I remove the GT 120, the icons never show up on the login screen, so the machine is completely unusable. It doesn't matter if a display isn't connected. I regret not getting a Mac Edition GTX 680 or something, and obviously I would've not done what I did if some in that thread had known I'd have this issue. I don't imagine anybody knows of anything I can do to make it run with the card installed, because otherwise I'm just going to have to leave it sitting on a shelve and only put it in when I need it. Also, why is there no functionality to search your own post history?

The last official video cards which supported the boot screen display in the classic Mac Pro were the AMD Radeon HD 7950 (Mac Edition) and the Nvidia GTX-680 (Mac Edition).

Unofficially it is possible to 'flash' the firmware yourself of the AMD HD 7950, HD 7970, R9-280 and R9-280x to have Mac firmware and a single reseller custom modifies various newer Nvidia cards to have Mac firmware. See - http://www.macvidcards.com/store/c2/Nvidia_GPUs.html

Um, you can't. And you are precluded from re-enabling FileVault for exactly that reason.

If that is what you want, your would need to obtain a "Mac edition" card.
