why can't i burn cds from my downloads

Why am i not allowed to burn cds of my downloaded songs?

MacBook Pro, iOS 12.0.1

Are you using Apple Music? You cannot burn anything from an Apple Music subscription or that is in the cloud. Right-clicking the name of the playlist in the sidebar and using Burn Playlist to Disc there may work better than the option in the File menu.
