There is a limited 1-year warranty provided with the purchase of the device on all Apple products.

You can purchase AppleCare+ within 90 days of purchase which will extend the warranty period.

Here's a link to learn more about AppleCare: https://www.apple.com/support/products/

Hope this helps,

Thank you so much for your reply. This ease my worries. I’m in an island, phone went inside pool.. ( suppose water proof.. but.. and my iphone XS is less than a month. Purchased 27/9/18. I didn’t buy Apple care yet. I read online that liquid or water damage not covered.

Is it true?

iPhone is not advertised or sold as waterproof. It is water resistant, which is a big difference. And yes, water damage is NOT covered under iPhone warranty. Since you haven't purchased AppleCare+ your phone won't qualify for it since it is now damaged. Sorry, but you'll have to purchase an out of warranty replacement.
