Alright, if you haven't installed any drivers for Saffire, please do so, as suggested by jokux. Make sure to follow all installation instructions.

For better troubleshooting assistance, could you please make and post a screenshot of Audio Devices window in Audio MIDI Setup utility (/Applications/Utilities/ or press Shift+Command+U in Finder to open the folder) with Saffire connected to the Mac and switched on.

Note: I can see that you're new to Mac, and so there is a certain transition period to workflow when you're switching to macOS (two weeks, in most cases). Some OS functions you might be used to do not work in the same way on a Mac than on a PC. So, patience is key here 🙂

I was using a PC and it works fine (a lot of latency). Purchased a new Mac OS High Sierra. Was using Cubase 6 but that wouldn't load on the Mac. I have Logic ProX as mentioned. I've been trying to search around the preferences but nothing. it did take me a while but I do have the midi input working so I can play the instruments in logic with a midi controller. This was definitely not a plug and play. I've been using the saphire for at least 3-4 years, and no issues.

Mystro10, I see. If the device does not show up in Audio MIDI Setup, the most plausible explanation is that the driver installation has failed. Or perhaps you tried a wrong one. You may find your device and a matching driver here: https://support.focusrite.com/hc/en-gb/articles/115005073725-Focusrite-product-c ompatibility-with-macOS-10-13-High-Sierr…

At this point, you could also check the USB cable, as a potential low-level solution. These are not fail-proof and sometimes they just get old. Try connecting the Saffire 6 to your Mac with another cable. Otherwise, to troubleshoot this, more information is needed.

Could you tell, what is the exact model of your Mac? And just to double-check, you're using macOS High Sierra, correct? Which exact version of High Sierra? You could find out about both by clicking on the apple icon in the upper-left corner of the screen and selecting "About This Mac".
