Apple Cinema Display (20-inch) screen doesn't turn on.

Hi, I have an Apple Cinema Display (20-inch) and the MacBook Air that's connected detects that there is a display connected, however the screen stays black. The MacBook knows there IS a display connected to it because there is an Arrangement tab in System Preferences> Displays.

Additional info: This display has been sitting on a desk unused for about a year, and I'm just trying to get it connected.

null-OTHER, Other OS, Product is Apple Cinema Display.

I have been having this same problem for some time. I believe it was after Sierra first came out. I'm running Mohave on a 27" iMac Retna 5K 2014. The iMac "sees" that the old mini dv 20" Cinema display is there and it will flicker for a second and then stay black. If I have a window open on that monitor I can't access it. Every now and then it will magically appear to be working, but as soon as the iMac sleeps then the external sleeps and won't wake again. And yes tried all the tiered work arounds... reset smc, pram, uplugging, and preferences in energy saver never sleep etc. This is a bus/power issue I believe. There are many many similar messages out there regarding the "not waking from sleep". It's driving me crazy and I do not want to get rid of the cinima display. I hope Apple Support will acknowledge this issue and provide a fix.
