Mojave: Can't print landscape, can't change paper size

Hello all,

Clean install of MacOS Mojave. Clean install of Pages version 7.2 (5869). Clean install of MS Word 16.17. For some reason, I cannot print anything, from any application, in landscape format. I can change the orientation of the paper all day long, but when it comes out of the printer, it's always in portrait, with half the sheet usually cut off. Meanwhile, all my MacOS High Sierra machines are working just fine. Go figure.

Also, I've noticed that I cannot change the paper size to anything but US Letter in Mojave. I used to be able to change to A4, etc., but the options has been completely removed.

I've seen a number of much older discussions threads here talking about similar issues with other versions of MacOS and OSX, but none apply to this. Welcome any hints if someone had seen this weirdness before.

Hi Luis-

Subsequent to further testing, the problem does appear to be with the printer (driver) and not with the various productivity apps mentioned above. We're using Canon MF735Cdw multifunction printers in our office.

Basically, there appears to be an incompatibility with the current Canon drivers that ship with Mojave. Some are out of date and were only tested to be compatible with High Sierra and below. So, in our case, the printer will install just fine but you are unable to change the document size and everything sent to the printer is assumed to be US Letter in portrait format -- no landscape format. (Note, that upgrades from High Sierra to Mojave don't have this issue -- it's only when a clean install of the OS was performed that this issue occurs.)

Turns out Canon does have updated drivers on their website. So once we figured out what drivers we needed, we were at least able to do a manual upgrade until Apple and Canon get on the same page with regards to their printer drivers. The downside is that these printers are multifunction (scan, copy, etc) and we haven't figured out how to re-install the native scanning app that was included with the macOS included driver. Still working on that ...

Cheers-
