Importing RedCode, Raw, Log medias to FCPX

Hello,

I'm new to FCPX and still learning how to efficiently use out of it.

As far as I learn, regarding with importing medias to FCPX, there are three options

1) import camera native

2) optimize medias (ProRes 422)

3) proxy medias (ProRes 422 proxy)

Normally, I used to import non-raw/log medias by optimizing for better performance and it should be fine.

But Please guide me whether should I import camera native or optimize the Raw/Log medias to FCP.

I'm on MacBook Pro i7 2018 and I can import/ edit camera native well (but not so much).

So, If I optimize that Raw/Log medias while importing, will the media quality drop or something bad happen?

Thanks,

Eric
