Voiceover Not Working in Final Cut Pro X

Voiceover in Final Cut Pro does not seem to work. The internal microphone works on iMovie and GarageBand, but not on Final Cut Pro X. Since it works on the other Apps, I am assuming it is with the software and not my settings. Does anyone have a solution?

VoiceOver not working Hi, When I try to record my voice using voiceover option, it doesnt record my voice at all. The audio leveller also doesnt show anything. When I open a different application voice memos - then I am able to record and clearly listen to the recording. Only in iMovie the voice recording is not working. Voiceover not working after update??? Trying to record a voiceover directly on FCPX and none of the mics is recorded: internal or my Rode AI-1 despite the fact they are all recognised in the menu and connected (recording got as expected in Quicktime, no settings or hardware changes in-between. Restarted, launched a new project, nothing seems to work. I get an audio bar in the timeline but it's empty of all sound (increase gain, nothing) Is that a FCPX glitch??? thanks!!!

JBLquantum100 headphones mic shows in SystemPref input but not in FCP voiceover input I'm trying to use these JBL headphones' microphone to do a voiceover on FCP but they don't show up in the VO input selection. In SystemPreferences, in Audio, Input, they do show and work. What is going on? I restarted FCP with them plugged in but no luck.

Try resetting the FCP X preferences.

Hold Option-Command as you launch FCP X.

Just to be sure: is the same sound input source selected in the Sound pane of System Preferences AND in the Voiceover window of FCP X?

Thank you...that cleaned up some of the other issues, but it did not resolve the voiceover problem.
