Editing Table of Contents format

Hi all!

I'm currently trying to edit the individual subheading formats in a table of contents for a document I'm composing in Pages.

There seems to be a few quirks when editing styles WITHIN the table of contents. The TOC populates as expected - however short of converting it to plain text, I can't actually stop automatic capitalisation of words within it. Character styles when selecting a section of the menu is greyed out - and annoyingly enough - selecting one or other actually wipes previous formatting. See the included image below. Or above - depending on what this page decides to do with it. Even asking for help with this software suite is laborious...User uploaded file

ANy tips at all will be much appreciated! I just want lower case menu elements for sub-sections. Argh!

Is the original text ALL CAPS. Selecting None will not convert already capitalised text.

As to the difficulty of getting either an up to date manual, Help or assistance that is entirely up to Apple. Apple has changed from a company focused on good design, clear documentation and providing high quality support, to a company that just talks about being a company focused on good design, clear documentation and providing high quality support.

Oh perhaps I should have mentioned that - no, the original text is not in all caps, but lower case - or, Capitalised As One Would Expect A Heading To Be.

It's really odd though. I suspect it has something to do with the theme I've selected - but I can't see anyway to look at that to begin with.

I'm beginning to agree with you on the support with respect to software unfortunately. It's a bit spotty at best 😐
