Read receipts not working

So I had my read receipts on with a specific person and they were working just fine then out of nowhere they stopped getting the notification that I read their messages even though it was still turned on. I have reset my phone, restarted it, toggled it on and off but nothing seems to be working. It works for everyone else except that person, how do I fix it?

So what finally worked for me is turning off read receipts, Sign out of iMessage (actually signing out your Apple ID), resetting the network settings, reboot, turn on iMessage (sign in again) and turn on read receipts.

So... I'm having this trouble too. I've tried logging out and back in of messages on both my mac and iPhone with no luck. Neither show read receipts. It's just my wife that we have read receipts turned on between us. She sees mine just fine, I don't see her's. This all started when Apple suddenly required me to change my apple ID password. My guess is they have some safety that detected someone trying to hack it and forced a password change.


Why is it SO difficult to change your apple ID password? The changing part isn't too bad. It's getting everything working right again that's a nightmare.
