How to enable the 'From:' field in Mail?

On my Mac, when I compose an email, I see To:, Cc:, Bcc:, Subject:, and From: fields - which is as I'd like it.

A friend, with the same OS, does not see the 'From:' field but requires it. She has two different addresses set up in Accounts. I've searched the configuration options without success.

How can an editable 'From:' field be enabled? I am not asking about the 'Reply To:' field, it's the ability, when the user has multiple email addresses, to select the address from which the mail is to be sent that is the issue.

Thanks in advance

JB

What I actually meant to post...

By default, a High Sierra 10.13.6 (17G65) Apple Mail client will show a From: header field in the compose window, as that is what I see here on mine. This is true in Classic mode too. There is no Preference setting, or alternative compose header field selection that provides it.

Is your friend using Apple Mail, but with a different default Mail reader configured in Mail Preferences : General?
