iPhone randomly starts playing music since iOS 12 install

iPhone 7 - installed iOS 12 about two weeks ago. Since then my phone randomly starts playing songs from my iTunes library - even if the phone is in silent mode. I cannot turn it off, I have to turn volume all the way down or pause song. This is using up all my battery. It usually happens while I'm texting, but it has happened also while phone is just sitting idle. I have turned off data to iTunes and now it only happens while I'm connected to wifi. My Apple watch also randomply starts playing music, although I was able to turn it off so watch doesn't play anymore.

Greetings, melaniefromnaples.

I see that the Music application on your iPhone 7 spontaneously breaks out in music. The problem is, you can't turn it off and it didn't start it in the first place. I'm happy to help.

Delete built-in Apple apps on your iOS 12 or later device or Apple Watch -- Delete the Music application then restore it again. You'll need to re-add any content you've downloaded to listen to while offline.

Take care!

Thanks for getting back to us with that question, melaniefromnaples. I'm happy to answer this for you.
If you're using an Apple Music subscription, you will need to download songs again.
Use Apple Music
If you aren't an Apple Music subscriber, you can sync your iPhone with iTunes to place your music back on your phone.
Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using iTunes on your computer

Cheers!
