Split screen animation is very slow

13" 2017 MBP, 3.5GHz i7, 16GB RAM.

Haven't seen this mentioned elsewhere. Recently upgraded to Mojave. Since the upgrade, when I try to use split screen, after selecting / activating the first window, the animation that moves other available windows to the right is very slow. Everything still works as expected, just kind of annoying. The animation was quick / snappy in High Sierra.
