I have iPad Mini 2.0. Ever since the last update, my outgoing video on Facetime has a wrong aspect ratio both for vertical (too narrow) and horizontal (too wide) display. There are no options anywhere to fix this. The ratio is fine for the camera and regular video recording. Incoming Facetime calls display correct ratios. Why?

Just upgraded to 12.1. It is also no better. But a workaround would be to switch cameras and return to front cam. It is all good. But the rear cam does not work at all. Only a frozen frame of the front cam until I switch it back to front. Other party does see my rear camera but not me.
I also have the incorrect aspect ratio for my video image, seems to be a issue on the host iPad as the recipient of my FaceTime calls have never mentioned it.
Restore as the only resolution is the new have you turned it off and on!
I have the same issue (wrong video ration and frozen image when switching to rear camera) with my iPad. Problems started with iOS 12+.
One temporary workaround with the frozen image is while you wait for facetime to connect (or as soon as you can), I switch to the rear camera. That seems to work. Once facetime has connected I seem to be able to toggle front and rear camera without issue. Every now and then even with this workaround, it will still freeze.
Hope this gets fixed soon - as you can imagine, it is very frustrating.
Didn’t work with my iPad Air even after resetting and setting up as new iPad. This only happened with iOS 12. 12.0.1 is no better.
If the other party’s device is using iPhone, aspect ratio is correct. But when iPad Air is used, it is skewed.
