The headphones that came with my brand new iPhone Xs stopped working properly today. They are cutting in and out; they will suddenly stop playing through the headphones and begin blaring out of my phone itself. I have been having issues with charging as well, but not sure if this is related.

We can't diagnose that kind of issue remotely, but since your iphone is brand new and still on warranty, I would have it inspected at your most convenient Apple Store or Authorized Service Provider:
