Fix for incorrect "not enough storage" message when backing up iPhone

Just got off a chat with Apple Support and it turned out that my Mac was incorrectly categorizing time machine snapshots as used storage. Use this terminal command to clear them: tmutil thinlocalsnapshots / 999999999999999 4

To be clear, the issue was that my iPhone wasn't backing up to my Mac because of an error that stated my Mac didn't have enough storage space for the backup (which it clearly did). Hope this helps someone!

I hit the command to back up to my computer, it starts, but then a message pops up saying the backup could not be completed because there is not enough storage on the computer. iPhone Backup failing Team,I just got my iphone XsMax but before i turn it up, i wanted to back up my iphone 6sPlus. I tried wifi and it keeps failing so i decided to do using a cable directly to the MAC. back up failed I tried to back up iphone on PC but it failed because of not enough space on my computer but it took all the free spaces left on my computer so where can I look for that failed back up files.
