The colors on my screen are messed up

The colors on my screen are messed up - most everything appears as blue, purple and reds. I can't watch movies on it bc the colors are all wrong. I have an early 2015 retina 12-inch MacBook, version 10.12.6, running on macOS Sierra. Under system preferences, displays, the resolution is set to default. This problem just suddenly occurred for no apparent reason. Please help. Thank-you.

Restart the computer holding down the command - option/alt - P - R keys before the gray screen appears. Continue to hold until you hear the startup chime for the second time. You may need to do this 2-3 times.

Reset NVRAM/PRAM

Try a SMC reset. The article covers when this is required, but doing this will not affect anything.

Reset SMC

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. Please post back on whether or not this worked. Also try the Safe Mode. Please post back on whether or not this worked.

Safe Mode - About

Safe Mode Startup – El Capitan. also Sierra

If it works in the Safe Mode, try running this program when booted normally and then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.
