Incoming call font size

My friend and I both own Iphone 8 plus. Our font size is set to the smallest size. However when someone calls him, the name of the contact appears to be smaller than on mine, even if its a one word name. Is there a setting around that? How is the font size smaller for his incoming calls? I personally would like mine to be changed to smaller one as well, if it is possible at all!
