stop itunes opening on startup

How do I prevent iTunes from loading when I start up? Better yet, how do I uninstall it altogether?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS Mojave (10.14)

Hey NYCRichard,

I can see that you don't want iTunes to open when you first power on your MacBook Pro. I can certainly understand wanting to control when apps are running when you're using your computer and I have some info that might help. Although, iTunes cannot be removed from your computer because it is part of the macOS, you can still manage which items open automatically when you log in using the information in this link here. Although it says, macOS Sierra, the same steps would apply. macOS Sierra: Open items automatically when you log in
