Voice Memos Recording Problem

Hi everyone,


Voice memos sometimes doesn't record the voice and I couldn't figure out the reason. And, this happens so randomly that makes the situation even worse because realizing this at the end of a lecture is really frustrating!

Any ideas folks?


P.S. It looks like it still records when I click the start however there is no voice when I play it after ending the record.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. I understand that you're unable to hear anything when you play back voice memos from your MacBook Air. I like to record audio on my computer as well and want to help get this working for you. What I would suggest first is to see if this issue occurs when you boot your Mac into safe mode.
Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac

If not, then we'll want to test and see if this is a user account issue or system wide. To do this, we'll test adding attachments from a new user account. The steps for this are in the following link.
How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac
Let us know the results of trying these two steps.
