cannot install macOS mojave

I received a notice today that macOS Mojave was available to be installed on my 2014 MBW running macOS High Sierra. However, when I came to the screen to select the hard drive, the option was grayed-out and when I hovered over the top I received the following error: "macOS Mojave cannot be installed because the third-party storage installed on your Mac is not compatible. " I have APFS / Encryption enabled on this device. The hard drive was upgraded but has run just fine with High Sierra. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Get MacOS Mojave now from the Mac App Store

Before installing please do the following:

Repair the Drive for El Capitan or Later

  1. Restart the computer and after the chime hold down the Command and R keys until the Utility Menu appears.
  2. Select Disk Utility and press the Continue button.
  3. Then select the indented (usually, Macintosh HD) volume entry from the side list.
  4. Click on the First Aid tab in the toolbar and wait for the Done button to activate. Click on it, then quit Disk Utility.
  5. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
