Carplay not showing in SYNC 3 USB connected iPhone X

I had an issue with Carplay not showing up when connecting through my car's USB port a Ford Explorer with SYNC 3. I found another user with the same question on this forum but not sure which phone they were using. The answer helped me but was not really correct for the iPhone X. I found that CarPlay was turned off under Settings -> Screen Time -> Content & Privacy Restrictions [enter passcode] turn on Carplay. Hope this helps other frustrated people like me.

Carplay Missing There's no carplay option on my iphone 11 pro when connected to my car that does support carplay. My sister's 12 pro connects just fine. Both connect via cable when we try, but I have no carplay options. when I search my settings on my phone, it finds it but when I click it just leaves me at general settings with no carplay showing. My phone is up to date with the latest software. Is there a way for my phone to get carplay working?
