Drag and Drop broken after Mojave update

Hi,

When moving files into another folder by dragging them over that folder's icon, they hang there for a much longer delay than with El Capitan, before they go in. This becomes worse when I drag about 40 or so files at the same time.

This problem doesn't happen when I drag files between open folder windows.

Any idea how to fix it?

Two things:

1) If you are dragging over a folder icon, you can press the space key to open that folder immediately

2) You can change or even turn off the delay by going to System Preferences->Accessibility->Mouse & Trackpad. I recommend keeping it on, but shortening the duration, as keeping off may make a folder open in unintended circumstances (as if you are dragging and accidentally pass over a folder icon).

I lamented the same problems with dropping files into desk folders and was told my post was not technical enough and would not be posted. So I'm a novelist, not a tech head. Should that nullify my claim to air my frustration with Mojave, the wish that I had never pressed the upgrade button? Seems autocratic. I even purchased a new Mac Airbook in the hope that all the problems I was suddenly experiencing since the upgrade could be eliminated. It hasn't!

I also have a new 2018 Macbook Air. I have tried the suggestions above and I still cannot drag and drop my files. It's so bad that I have started using my old MBP to avoid this operating system. Is this a known issue that Apple has acknowledged and is working on correcting? Has anyone called Apple Support? Maybe I should try that or make a Genius Bar appointment. ;(
