try an SMC reset and an NVRAM reset

<Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support>

<How to reset NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support>

Also try booting into Safe mode. Boot holding the shift key.

If those do not help, it is possible you have hardware issues. For example a swelling battery can push against the trackpad. If hardware issues make a Genius Bar appointment at you local Apple store.
