trackpad not working

Good day! The trackpad of my MacBook Air suddenly stopped working. What could be the problem in this? Thank you.

How to reset the SMC of your Mac and perform this action 3 times consecutively and Test.

Should that fail - restart in Safe Mode - Shift key immediately at restart. It will do a Repair Disk, clear cache files and only load Apple Software, extensions and fonts. So, it will load slowly - also normal. Once logged In - Test.

If that fails to resolve the issue - Find an Apple Authorized Service Provider nearest your location. Just fill in the Country and City Information
