AirPods won’t hold charge

Ive done all of the recommended suggestions and have found that software updates are the only thing that helps me get a minimum of 1 hour 45 minutes of playing time with my AirPods. When my device (Mac or iPhone) are updated, I’m back to square one. I can never get over 2 hours of playtime with my AirPods. Oftentimes, I have to switch to Jaybird. It also bothers me that this will get even worse when Apple sells the AirPo 2. Apple always kills the previous generation of products instead of improving them or even just maintaining them. Any suggestions on how to get even half the life advertised?

If you have not done so, try resetting your Airpods

How Do I Reset My AirPods?

  1. Press and hold the setup button on the back of your Charging Case.
  2. Release the setup button when status light flashes amber a few times, then flashes white.
  3. Your AirPods have been reset.
  4. Connect your AirPods to your device, just like you did when you set them up the first time.
