update 12.0 has caused my iHOME model iPL8BN docking station to no longer be able to charge my phone. It has also done the same thing to my Mom's iHOME docking station. Can you uninstall or add a software patch to fix this

iHome docking station nolonger chargers phone battery with 12.0 update. Is there a fix/patch?

Why is Apple forcing users who accept updates to buy (over priced) Apple brand cords to charge items? Is this just a cash grab? Is Apple using the “extend battery life” excuse they used when caught slowing down older iPhones? Is there a way around the charging problem created by the OS update that makes non-apple brand chargers stop working? Do I have to leave the Apple brand to avoid these kinds of cash-grab tactics? How many days until Apple releases a statement that “this is about extending battery life,” like when they were caught slowing down older iPhones with updates?
