MacBook Pro Dock hangs when closing computer.

Hello. I have a 2017 MacBook Pro, 13 inch. I noticed the Dock hangs a bit after I close the computer. It does't seem to slide down completely, then the screen darkens (shuts down). The issue is remedied when I delete the dock file and refresh the dock using Terminal, but returns every time. This problem happened after I upgraded to High Sierra. Now Im on Mojave, and it persists.


Also, my Mac switches log in screens when I open it. After I type my password, it loads with the normal background picture, then switches a white apple logo. Is this normal?

Yes. There is potentially some configuration item that is preventing the Dock from closing properly in your "normal" user account. Also, and very likely, there may be an app on the Dock that could be the cause. If you have any third-party apps on the Dock, simply remove them (you can always add them back later) to see if the Dock will close properly when shutting down your Mac.
