Download this program which was written by Thomas Reed, a long time poster. The program will search for malware/adware The program will do the work for you which makes it easy. There is no reason to leave it installed once troubleshooting is finished. The free version doesn't update itself. If you need it again, you can download it again.

Eric,

Since you nailed my other popup problem, I’m wondering if you can help with another one. This one is a legit popup from my computer that several times a day will notify me that "This Mac can’t connect to iCloud because of a problem with “****.

But I don’t WANT to connect to the cloud for my own reasons. Is there a way to shut off that notification?

Thanks again

Dave

Eric,

Well, you nailed it again. That seems to have gotten rid of that popup. Thank you very much.

I’m just not comfortable with what this Cloud thing does. I have a backup hard drive. so having all of my useless info stored on someone else’s computer just doesn’t have a need. I’m senior and most of my other friends of same age also don’t have much need for anything but basic computer, email, phone calls. Although I will complete my Apple ensemble on Friday by getting a refurbished iPhone 7. Already have iMac, old laptop, iPad and then the iPhone.

I guess I just have a boring life and spend too much time with these antisocial gadgets.

But thanks again Eric. Greatly appreciated.

Dave
