upgrade iCloud Storage and share as Family

hi,

My Apple ID is the primary account on our Family Plan. However we have purchased our own 50GB iCloud Storage plan under our own different Apple IDs.

How do I upgrade my iCloud to 200GB and share it with my family without them loosing their data that's already stored in iCloud under their own Apple IDs? What are the steps to transition them over such that they no longer need to pay monthly for their own 50GB and just share my 200GB iCloud storage plan?

MacBook Pro, macOS High Sierra (10.13.3)

Good morning D2Law,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! I see that you're looking to share iCloud storage via Family Sharing, but you're concerned about the transition. I can help.

Once you share your iCloud storage using the Family Sharing plan, these are the steps your family members will take:

If a family member is already paying for their own iCloud storage plan, they can choose to switch to your plan or keep their own and still remain part of the family. When they switch to the shared family plan, they get a refund for the remainder of their personal plan. They can't keep their current plan and use the shared family plan at the same time.

With those steps in mind, you can start sharing your iCloud Storage by follow the steps here: Share an iCloud storage plan with your family - Apple Support

Have a great day!
