apple watch 4 - cellular vs. non cellular

Hello,

i would like to ask what is the difference between apple watch 4 cellular and non cellular? I mean in everyday use, when i have iphone always in my pocket. I would love to use apple watch 4 as an assistant for notifications of my emails (Gmail app), viber, messenger, apple music, sms, phone calls (via AirPods) etc.

I do not need apple watch 4 to use seperatly from iphone but my question also is, if i use cellular data on iphone, will the GPS only apple watch model drain data through iphone ?

Thank you very much.

John.

The only difference between the 2 is the cellular version can be used for calls, messages and data without the iPhone present. The GPS model will do all the same functions as the cellular model but must have the iPhone present and connected. They both will use your data plan although most cell providers charge around an extra $10 per month to connect the cellular Apple Watch to your data plan. The amount of data they use will depend on how you use it.

I opted for the GPS only model since I don't expect to be far from my iPhone for most uses anyways.
