Ok.. there might be a few ( not many though) . I checked out amazon.it now and that ez-cast thing is available there, as is iogear and avantree. You’re gonna have to do the legwork on this one. I don’t know where you shop for that. Funny thing-the cheap ones for sure don’t support mac-and there’s only 1 that supports mountain lion. I’ve not often had a problem with upgrading the os. Hasn’t made my mac slower. Any problems i have had have been fixed quickly. Of course, before you do, you can see what others’ experiences have been, if it has gone smoothly for them. Mountain lion is old, so support for it is very limited ( as in none) . If you are scared, do a backup if you can, then jump on in. No harm will be done

Thats all from me

Hi John, thanks again for your answer! Unfortunately the Lemorele device you suggested is not shipped to Italy, don t know why..Do you know of another dongle which can surely work on my macbook pro? thanks a lot.

Moreover, if you had to suggest me an OS upgrade (from 10.8.5), what would you say? I have always been kind of afraid to upgrade to later OS, always afraid that the computer will start to slow down and be worse generally.

thanks a lot!

No sweat. Try here.

Lemorele Wireless USB WiFi Adapter Bluetooth 4.2 5G/2.5G Dual Band Wireless Adapter AC 600Mbps Mini WiFi Dongle for Desk…

I thought that BT would be built in to your mac Book Pro mid 2010, should be there at the top right of the screen next to the wifi icon, but what do I know? maybe it's turned off???? anyways give that a try. or iogear? No use messing around with a cheap-o BT dongle that says "windows" on it, but doesn't mention mac at all, and then trying to get it to work somehow...not worth the fuss, frankly.... Hmmm....Mountain lion, eh?? bit of an older cat.....still, if it works for you....*cough* El Capitan*cough**...gosh it's sure dry in here...better get a coffee pronto !!
