I can't open numbers on my MacBook??

I have tried to open numbers and keynote and it comes up with a box showing the error, and a option to retry and open the page again, yet this fails to work. Can anyone help please?

MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2018, 4 TBT3), iOS 12.0.1

Numbers not working on iMac but working on MacBook Pro I have a 2018 27" iMac and a 2019 MacBook Pro both running the latest OS. Numbers works just fine on The MacBook Pro but not on the iMac. When I try to open an Excel file I either get blank cells or warning symbols but nothing else. I could use the MacBook but I have two large projects for which I need to use the iMac. I've tried trashing my preferences and re-downloading the app but nothing seems to work. Thanks.

open the App "Launch Pad"

then locate Numbers. Click and hold on number until it starts to shake. Then click the "X". This will remove Numbers.

now type the escape key. Open the App Store and reinstall Numbers.
