These interruptions are now so bad, I am unable to read news sites. I took a picture of Safari history to show the constant interruptions but do not know how to add a photo to this message.

Doesn’t work. I called Apple and the onlybanswer they coukd give was to diwload an Ad Block app. Did this and itvworked
Settings > Safari > Block Pop Ups > On. Also, Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data.
You can try clearing Safari browsing history (Settings - Safari - Clear history and website data). If the ads keeps coming back, the websites you visit may be full of advertisements.
What kind of interruption are you experiencing? How do you access the internet? Over WiFi connection or cellular data? If it's over WiFi connection, what is your router model number? Does the problem stop when you access the internet at different WiFi network?
The interrruption is an ad that overlays the web page with a window and prevents seeing most of the the page. The ad has a close button that does not work so I have to quit the page then reload the page. The ad keeps on returning.
The internet acces is thru a cable modem with an Apple AirPort Extreme using an iPad Pro. I do not know the Airport Extreme model number and only use our home WiFi network.
