unable to download purchased music from iTunes

I purchased an album from iTunes and only some of the songs downloaded. I thought I would just delete them and redownload but although the album shows up as purchased when I go to the store - not in my account though I am unable to redownload. Have looked at solutions from several years ago but they don't appear to be workable.
