Delete password to enter High Sierra

I have found no way to bypass the need for password to enter High Sierra. I did exactly as instructed, i.e.: Disable File Vault, Systems Preferences, Users & Groups, Login Options, Automatic Login--after unlocking the padlock. It simply did not work

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2013), macOS High Sierra (10.13.6)
