Try either option below:

Option #1 - Allow the resolution to reset automatically

  1. Wait 15-30 seconds to see if your Mac mini resets the display resolution on its own.
  2. If not, press the <esc> key, which should revert your display to the previously selected resolution.

Option #2 - Use Safe Mode to Select a display resolution

  1. Shut down your Mac by holding down the power button for at least 5-10 seconds.
  2. Once powered-down, wait 10-15 seconds, and then, press the power button.
  3. Immediately after it starts up, press and hold the <shift> key.
  4. Release the <shift> when you see the gray Apple logo.
  5. Choose Apple menu User uploaded file > System Preferences > Displays, and then click on Display.
  6. Try using "Default for display" for the Resolution option.
  7. Finally, restart your Mac.
