iPhone XS Max WiFi problem.

Hi. Is anyone else struggling with maintaining their WiFi connection? I use various Apple Airport Express/Extreme devices all on their latest update. We have a vari of iPhones in the home but my XS drops WiFi connection all the time. The WiFi connection symbol shows it’s still connected but when I go into the Airport App it shows an orange light next to my WiFi routers on my home network. Speedtest can’t pick up a server, obviously because the phone wifi is not working. I usually have to turn WiFi off them on again on the phone which sometimes resolved it or it requires a hard reset. All other iPhones on the same WiFi network have no problem so it must be the phone. Really frustrating. I’ve heard anecdotally that others have a similar problem so I don’t want to get my phone swapped out for a recon unit only for the same problem to occur. I suppose I just want to find out if others are having the same issue and if so what Apple has in the works to fix it. I’m assuming it’s the Intel part that Apple have decided to start using and it’s not up to scratch.

Hi Burns ZA,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. I see you're having a Wi-Fi connectivity issue on your iPhone XS Max.

You mentioned that other iOS devices work as expected on the same network. If you connect your iPhone XS Max to a different network, do you experience the same issue? This would help to rule out a few other possible causes.

You'll find a few great steps here that may help If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t connect to a Wi-Fi network :

Make sure that your router is on and you're within range

If you're too far from your router, you can't get a signal, so make sure that you're within range.

Check for issues with your Wi-Fi network

If iOS detects an issue with your Wi-Fi connection, you might see a Wi-Fi recommendation under the name of the Wi-Fi network that you're connected to. For example, you might see the alert "No Internet Connection." To get more information, tap the Wi-Fi network.

Restart

Try restarting your iOS device, router, and cable or DSL modem. To restart your router or modem, unplug it, then plug it back in.

After you restart each device, see if you fixed the issue.

Still can’t connect?

Reset your Network Settings. Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you’ve used before.

I hope the steps above help to get you connected on the iPhone XS Max.

Have a great day.
