My screen brightness keeps randomly changing while I’m using my phone. It happens while I’m in the same environment and lighting. One minute everything is perfect and the next my screen brightness goes all the way down for no reason at all. After a while it goes back to normal, but it keeps happening every once in a while. Has anyone else had that problem?

I see that the display of your iPhone XS Max dims on it's own from time to time. It will return to the setting you were previously using, but it happens from time to time. I'm happy to help.
Use Night Shift on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch -- Make sure that Night Shift isn't enabled.
Adjust the brightness on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch -- Make sure auto-brightness is off in Settings > General > Accessibility > Display Accommodations.
