Good morning,
The display brightness on my iphone XS drops overnight and occasionally during the day even though Automatic brightness is off. My wife has the same phone and suffers the same issue. Night Shift is also off on both devices.
Any help on solving this would be much appreciated.

In case anyone else has this problem I have worked it out. It is heat related. We realised it only happens when we are sitting outside and perhaps put the phones on the table in full sun.
Cooling them in the shade resolves the issue. Bit surprised as we are in Cornwall not Columbia
The overnight issue may be due to charging and the battery getting hot
