apple watch not unlocking macbook after mojave upgrade

Since updating to Mojave, cannot unlock with Apple Watch (series 2). Login screen just sits there, not showing the password field, so maybe something is happening. Have to tap a key and the password field appears, have to enter password manually. Have tried both Dark and Light appearance, no difference.

Cannot unlock Mac with Apple Watch since watchOS 9 Hi! Since I installed watchOS 9 and MacOs Monterey 12.6, unlocking Mac wit Apple Watch is nearly impossible. I can do it if I deselect the option in the security preferences panel and then switch it on again, but the trick lasts for a few hours only. After a few hours, my Mac seems to ignore muy watch again. I see the message 'Unlocking with Apple Watch' and then it disappears and I have to introduce password to unlock. Any fix for this? Thanks!

Watch no longer unlocks my MacBook air I got the series 5 watch in June. Ever since my watch would automatically unlock my laptop when I would open. Recently, probably within the last 2 months, it no longer works. It used to say "unlocking with apple watch" and would load for a few minutes before giving up and saying it needs my passcode. Now it no longer acknowledges my watch and automatically prompts me to type in my passcode. Once in a great while it will say its trying to unlock with my watch but it hasn't succeeded at all these last two months. Im not sure the issue, I have pretty good wifi and my watch is connected to my computer. Any ideas how to fix this?

Interestingly, I am having this exact issue with my Macbook Air (2015 edition) but not my iMac (also 2015 edition). Both are upgraded to Mojave, but I seem to have no issue getting my Watch (series 2) to unlock my iMac consistently. On my Macbook Air, it almost never works.

YES ... I've tried restarting everything but to no avail.
