Need help upgrading to GIMP 2.10.6

I'm trying to upgrade GIMP from 2.10.4 to 2.10.6. The older version was running fine. When I try to run the new version I get the message that the app could not be opened because the identity of the developer could not be verified.

As expected, I proceeded to Settings, Privacy, General. Therein, I unlocked, and okayed everything, so as to Open the app. GIMP opened. However, next time around, I had to go through the same rigamarole again. It appears I cannot persuade Mojave I want to accept the identity of the developer of this app.

How may I gracefully upgrade from GIMP 2.10.4 to GIMP 2.10.6? I would truly appreciate any advice.

macOS Mojave (10.14)
