I keep getting this message when I try to add or delete a bookmark in Safari. Also, the message on the bottom of the Favourites page does do anything when I select either option.

Try opening the Bookmarks Sidebar and look for a Bookmarks Menu folder. See if the Chrome Bookmarks are there. If so, Safari/File/Export Bookmarks and save them to your Desktop. Then control - click on the Chrome folder and select Delete. Quit/reopen Safari and test. If everything is normal, delete the file from your Desktop. If there are problems, Safari/File/Import From and select the file on your Desktop. Return it to the Bookmarks Menu folder.
