How do I access old word 2011 for mac .docx documents if I upgrade to Mojave? Is read only access still supported?

Will I loose read access to old word/excel office 2011 for mac .docx documents, which I created using office 14.7.7 within High Sierra, if I upgrade to Mojave?

Can I open old word documents within another application such as online microsoft teams?

I am currently running High Sierra on a late 2013 iMac, 2.7ghz intel core i5.

With a 1.12 TB Fusion drive

Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3.

When I bought the mac (which was more powerful than I needed) I assumed I was future proofing myself.

I was caught out a few macs ago when "claris works" changed to "pages" I don't want to make the same mistake with word.

iMac, macOS High Sierra (10.13.6), Microsoft office 2011

Unless the Word document is damaged, Pages '08, '09, and versions 5 thru 7.2 will open .doc and .docx documents. However, no version of Pages is a Word clone, and though it will open Word documents, they are translated into Pages internal document format without changing the original Word document. The translation is done in reverse when exporting to Word .doc and .docx formats. You will not be able to edit, or save the original Word document.

Features unique to Word and Pages will interfere in document translation.
