Apple maps won’t talk past inital instruction

Hi, having a problem with Apple maps. After entering my destination and hitting go it will speak the first direction then nothing past this. This is purely using the phone as a speaker, not connecting it to a car etc via Bluetooth or usb. Location services are enabled.
