Been using family sharing for quite some time now and all the sudden for the past few days nothing is showing up in the movies app under purchased where family sharing movies should be. ive tried Resetting. Logging in and out. Nothing. Any thoughts
Alright everyone I got a work around from Apple Tech Support and it worked for me so I will share it in the hopes you have the same luck.
Go into itunes Movies section on your AppleTV
Search for a movie called "Ellis" (it is a free documentary)
"Buy" Ellis and wait for it to finish downloading
Go over to your purchased section and your family sharing content should be back

She did say there was another way but this one worked so if you have any problems, give tech support a call.

My Apple ID is the “main” account that all the movie purchases happen on. On my main AppleTV that is logged in with my AppleID I can go to purchased and see everything just like normal. But on my daughter’s AppleTV and the AppleTV in my bedroom logged in with my wife’s AppleID when going to purchased movies nothing shows up, just blank. But under purchased TV shows, everything works as normal. This is also happening on both of my parents AppleTVs. Apparently this just started in the blast week.
No I haven’t. I’ve done chat sessions with them 2 times and haven’t gotten anywhere. The people I chatted with didn’t even comprehend what I was saying to them. If any of you figure it out I would appreciate a reply on what was going on!
No luck for me either. Just curious but is this issue for everyone exclusive to AppleTV’s and JUST the movies? For me, TV shows still work on AppleTV and everything work as normal on iPhones and iPads.
Same problem here. I can literally pull up the movie and play them from every other device including non-apple devices, but I can neither see them on the Apple TV nor AirPlay them to the device either.
I tried this today on my daughter's Apple TV. I am the primary family sharing contact so everything works on my iOS and tvOS devices but not on my two daughter's. I got everything configured properly for them to use their Apple IDs instead of mine so music is working. One daughter tried the Ellis download and she can see that movie plus select my movies and my other daughter's movies by selecting them under family sharing. When we try and do this on our iPhones and iPads, it doesn't show up. Aren't we supposed to be able to share movies and TV shows between family sharing participants? I can only see mine plus the movies and TV shows I share from my Mac. I can't select someone else's. All of us have sharing enabled in the Family Sharing settings.
