Live wallpapers option is missing in iPhone XR

Just bought a new iPhone XR to my DD and she complained that she could not use any of her Live wallpapers anymore. In “Settings | Wallpaper | Choose” the “Live” option is totally missing! It is however possible to set a live image as a wallpaper but again only in “Still” of “Perspective” mode and “Live Photo” mode is again missing.


I suspect that this is caused by the missing “3D Touch” option which according to Apple should be totally replaced by so called “Haptic Touch”. If this is the case why Apple does not allow Live wallpapers using the Haptic Touch? Is this a feature that will be available as an update? 😕

Yup. You’re not the only one. I was on the phone for over an hour today with apple support. At first they didn’t know why the live wallpaper feature wasn’t available on the XR. She was about to escalate the issue until she got a response from, I’m guessing, one of the engineers. Apparently that feature isn’t available on the XR. But if enough people call in and voice their concerns, support reps can vote on it and possibly get them to develop a way to add it possibly in a new iOS update. So I’d suggest actually calling apple support. Hope that helps.
